Plastic recycling space for the community
The proposed aim of Baanpayoo Recycling is actually to raise the awareness of my local community to the vast misuse of plastic in the environment. I try hard but honestly it is an uphill struggle.
Learning centre for tackling the plastic issue
So I focus on things I can control for myself. I have a collection point for plastic bottles and a workshop for producing souvenir and other items from extruded and injected recycled plastic.
Because the problem is so widespread in Thailand and the rest of the world, I feel passionately that we have to change opinions and practices on plastic usage. Therefore my workshop also doubles as a learning centre to try to alter people’s attitude. It hosts events for the local community, schools and higher education.
